ليندا عيد تعطي درسًا في الوفاء

"ليندا عيد"، الفتاة المجتهدة المتفوّقة الجميلة المبتسمة، كانت تلميذتي التي أتمنّى أن أكون قد أضفت شيئًا ما إلى ما وهبها إياه الله وأحاطه أهلها بالعناية والمحبّة. أذكر حيويّتها ونشاطها وما زلت أحتفظ بالفيديو كليب الذي أعدّته لإحدى أغنيات زياد الرحباني من ضمن النشاطات الثقافيّة التي ما كانت تغيب عن حصص تدريس اللغة العربيّة وآدابها.

أعادت هذه المدوّنة التواصل مع "ليندا" بعدما باعدت بيننا الأيّام بحكم دراستها الجامعيّة وسفرها للتخصّص. فهي تتابع ما أنشره وتطلع أصدقاءها على ما يترك أثرًا في نفسها الطيّبة. واليوم فاجأتني بترجمة أحد نصوصي [[غباء نسائيّ]] إلى اللغة الإنكليزيّة ووضعته على صفحة الفايسبوك الخاصّة بها، وأسمح لنفسي بنشره هنا تقديرًا منّي لعاطفتها النبيلة، ولوقتها الثمين الذي اقتطعت منه ما سمح لها بترجمة النصّ. وبصراحة، كنت وعدت نفسي منذ أنشأت هذه المدوّنة أن تكون أوّل ترجمة لأحد النصوص من حصّة "ميرا" ابنة أختي، وهي تتخصّص في هذا المجال. غير أنّ "ميرا" تعرف المكانة التي يحتلّها تلاميذي في وجداني وذاكرتي، وتفهم كم تعني لي مبادرة "ليندا"، ولكن هذا لا يعفيها من كونها المؤتمنة الرسميّة على ترجمة نصوصي متى أنهت دراستها ووجدت الوقت.

To write poetry in time of slag

To speak, in time gossiping

To pray in time of Immorality

To believe in friends in time of interest

To give birth to children in time of death

To treat patients in a time of despair

To be generous in times of begging

To be creative in times of destruction

To be a bird in times of frogs

To be loving in a time of selfishness

To be faithful in a time of treachery

To love in times of salaries and grades

To be right in times of Cowards

To carry a pen to write and not a lipstick

To be different in times of copying machines

Stupidity

To believe you're smart when you are the most stupid of people because you did not hide your intelligence!

To believe that you're doing what you have to while people are convinced that you acting your role brilliantly!

To believe that with your words you can wake the world, while it takes just few punches!

To believe that you are participating in a revolution while you are committing suicide!

To believe that you made this world a better place for some people while it was better if you looked for a place in which to isolate from the world and people!

Stupidity

To age without health insurance

To run for a job with your head high

To get ahead at work at the expense of your own private life

To congratulate a stupid who became director

To approach the stage while people in the front row are asleep

To apologize even if you have done nothing wrong.

Stupidity

To wear your pearls before pigs

To put your confidence in a peace other than your inner peace

To convince a man that women’s intelligence is not scary

To be a loud voice when people are dead.

To ask for help from a friend outside the program "who wants to be a millionaire!"

To go on working after official working hours

Stupidity

To look for love and you're an Arab woman in her fifties,

To wait for the end of work service to get compensated, while you're paying your salary on sedative drugs to help you tolerate the employer and colleagues,

To expect to know who killed your grandfather in the war,

To waste your time reading a boring and silly book just because its writer gave it to you

To believe that a political party remains true to the principles of its founder,

To believe that the war in Lebanon will end one day,

To find an Arab whose ideas do not stem from his stomach, his passion from between his legs, and his patriotism from his pocket.

But your most dangerous stupidity is to say to someone that he is stupid.

He is stupid, clever you, so how will he understand what you are saying to him?!
